This fruit is well-known in all tropical countries, in fact, all countries near the equator line have the privilege of knowing this fruit that not only is delicious but also has healing properties.

My dear wife and I like it very much. You can make amazing milkshakes with it as well as licor If you have not tried it, you should. In the United States of America is not consumed very often unfortunately, as it is not exported in large quantities, the average American knows nothing of this fruit.

Tree with fruits.

What to say about the properties of the Soursop. Benefits of Soursop.

The Annona muricata, Soursop scientific name, also known as Graviola tree is a tropical fruit that brings many benefits to the body. Anti-cancer effects have been widespread in connection with the Soursop. However, these are not their only medicinal properties. Meet the nutritional properties of the Soursop and how their use can benefit your health.

The healing properties of the Soursop in cancer treatment have been widespread. However, S or most commonly known as guanabana provides other benefits to the body, thanks to its rich nutritional composition. Among other components, Soursop fruit contains vitamins, minerals and essential amino acids, important for health.

Every 100 grams Soursop or Guanaba provides: 1 gr. protein, 0.95 gr. fat, 16.5 g. carbohydrate, 3.2 g. fiber, 58 g. ash, calcium 10.3 mg, 26.9 mg of phosphorus, potassium 270 mg, 0.64 mg of iron, 2 IU of Vitamin A, Vitamin C 28.5 mg, thiamin 0.10 mg, riboflavin 0.06 mg, 1.3 mg of niacin, tryptophan 11 mg, 8 mg and 60 mg of methionine lysine. It also has a high-water content, so this represents a contribution of only 65 calories.

It is consumed as fruit or juice and is also used in the production of liqueurs and jams. Moreover, all parts of the Guanaba plant are usable for different functions. The juice of the ripe fruit is good for the liver and has a diuretic effect. The Soursop leaf tea are attributed antispasmodic, sedative, and vasodilator antidiabetes, anti-cancer besides. Lastly, the powdered seeds are used as insect repellents.

While no one can deny that the Soursop or Guanaba has positive health effects, we cannot deny as well that there are several studies on anonacina, the compound of the Soursop allegedly with anticancer effects.

The idea that graviola is an effective cancer fighter comes from research at Purdue University's School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences on the active components of the tree, unique substances known as annonaceous acetogenins. The Purdue investigators found them to be potent inhibitors of cancer cells while leaving normal cells alone. They also found the compounds to be effective against drug-resistant cancer cells.

On one hand, naturists say the Soursop have properties that help to eliminate or fighting cancer, and on the other hand those who support drug companies say though if you have investigated the properties of the Soursop there yet no clinical studies in humans only in vitro or in living animals. What neither side would deny is that if you eat it there has to be health benefits becouse its a fruit.
